Do I add the domain controller to the the existing domain or create a new domain in the existing forest? My knowledge is limited on all these things and it seems the more I investigate what to do the more little things I find out that I need.Īt this point I have built a Windows 2008 R2 Server and have begun the AD setup, which brings me to my questions:ġ.

We currently have 3 VMWare ESXi Hosts (2 run our Windows Production Servers and the 3rd is running vCenter and Veeam 8.0)įrom watching videos and reading different posts it seems the best way would be to have another AD/DC at the remote site along with Veeam for a local proxy. The goal being that if the office burned down or something then we could rebuild from the backups at a new location, and of course this would need to happen as quick as possible. My boss has asked me to have our Veeam backups go off site (to his house), so I've been trying to figure out the best way to do this.
